What is a Nonogram Puzzle (Picross)?
Nonograms (also widely known as Picross, Paint by Numbers, Griddlers, and Japanese Crosswords) are logical deductive puzzles where number clues tell you how many continuous filled squares exist in each row and column.
1. Consecutive Blocks
A clue of "3" means exactly three filled cells in a row without gaps.
2. Separation Spaces
Multiple numbers (e.g. "2 1") must have at least one empty square separating the groups.
3. Color Reveal
Solve the logic grid to reveal a colorful pixel art illustration.
Nonogram & Picross Solving Tips for Beginners
- Full-Line Fills: If a row clue equals the total size of the grid (e.g.
5in a 5ร5 grid), fill all 5 cells immediately. - Cross Out Empty Cells: Use the Cross tool (โ) to mark cells that definitely cannot be filled. Eliminating spaces makes remaining blocks obvious!
- Look for Overlap: In a 5-cell row with a clue of
4, the middle 3 cells (indices 2, 3, 4) must be filled whether the block starts on the left or the right.
