Rules & Strategy Guide for Yosenabe
Yosenabe is named after the traditional Japanese hot pot meal where assorted ingredients (meat, tofu, vegetables) are cooked together in a savory broth.
- Straight Paths: Each circle moves in a single straight direction (orthogonal) into a pot. It enters the first cell of the pot it touches.
- Non-Crossing Rays: Two paths cannot intersect or overlap. Paths also cannot pass through the initial cell of another circle.
- Target Broth Sums: The sum of circle values that land in each numbered pot must exactly equal that potโs target clue. Every pot must receive at least one circle!
Key Deductions:
Edge Constraints: Circles located near the perimeter or corners often have only 1 or 2 directions that actually lead toward a pot without hitting walls or other pieces. Identifying these forced moves first frees up the remaining board channels for the larger numbers!
