Star Battle Strategy & Deduction Techniques
1. The 2-Cell Region Pinch
When a region spans only 2 or 3 cells, you can instantly eliminate neighboring cells in overlapping rows or columns. Because 2 stars must fit into the region, no two can share a corner or edge.
2. Pigeonhole Counting Across Rows
Look at pairs of rows. If two rows together require 4 stars, and 4 specific regions lie entirely inside those two rows, then no stars can be placed in any other regions within those rows.
